A SIGN OF THE TIMES AT THE HOTEL HERBERT TOWNSVILLE
The Hotel Herbert has been in operation since the late 1800’s. It has been known as The Hotel Herbert since 1910. The pub has been around a long time. It has stood the test of time. The Hotel has now been modernized to fit in with the 21st century. But what makes our hotel great and unique is that we have not forgotten where we came from. The Hotel is still and foremost an Australia pub hotel but now with more of a modernized feeling to it. We have a state of art Kitchen with Fantastic Meals. A beautiful large beergarden for dinning and live music. The Hotel is also air-conditioned through out including our pokie room. We have large Lcd screens through out the hotel also and a huge Lcd screen in our beergarden for watching sports or listening to music. Another big change to our hotel as well is now have live music every Friday night and then sometimes are able to lure some of the biggest groups around Townsville and Charters Towers to come play at our hotel on Saturday afternoons.

What is C350?
C350 is Townsville Hotel Herbert’s Members Loyalty Rewards Program
To find out what more – join the Herbert Members. We would like to tell you more about it – but there are some Qld laws for hotels that are a bit vague – and we would rather avoid fuss so you will need to come into the Herbert – just join on line – it is free and you can “unjoin” by using the link at the bottom of every Members email.
Members get an update email about once a week, and an occasional special update if something extra special is coming. C350 started yesterday – and Phase one continues until the end of January.
We expect word to spread quickly as members tell their friends who join as well and tell their friends. We want to bring some life back to the inner city, and to change the experience that the city has giving visitors in the past.
Huge Changes in The Last 2 Years
Over the last two years we have done major renovations to our Hotel – and if you have not been in for a while – come in and have a stickybeak.
Walls have been smashed down, huge windows installed to overlook the enormous Courtyard [behind the huge brick wall on the street], a state of the art commercial kitchen designed and installed, the upstairs accommodation completely renewed and kept super clean and sparkling, the Herbert Cellars moved from next door in Stokes St to a bigger, better place next door in Sturt St, we now have regular live music, security to enforce dress and behaviour standards at all times, massive sail over the Courtyard with new paving, and other improvements happening almost weekly.
Great Meal Deals
For example, recently you will have seen that we initiated evening meals after getting our lunches to a great standard which are VERY popular. As part of that launch we have a daily super deal – eg Friday Dinner deal is Buy One 300g T-Bone, Salad and Chips (which is a great meal, not just a ‘baby’ portions like you might see elsewhere), and you GET ANOTHER ONE FREE.
Why are we doing all this extra work? Because we want to make your experience at the Herbert better and better. For the last few years we have been smashed by the events, mis-events and non-events with the Mall (re)development. We could have sat on our hands and waited for our neighbourhood to get better, or we could get up and do everything in our power to make it better.
The Herbert has been operating for over 100 years. That means there are lots of things that needed updating!
